the essential
Yoan Caron and Margaux Mayor, two children of Fumel, will be at the head of the future sports complex dedicated to padel. It will be built within a year in the Portes du Quercy area in Montayral.
They have ants in their legs. And yet the marathon has only just begun for Yoan Caron and Margaux Mayor. By the end of 2025, they will be at the head of a sports complex, dedicated to a sport that is one of the most trendy: padel. To carry out this project, these two children from Fumel joined forces with Lotihome, a real estate developer which invests in sport with its subsidiary “Padel ²”.
The idea was born in Yoan’s head just a year ago. Fond of racquet sports – he is a member of the Fumel tennis club office – he became “addicted” to this new practice. But to do so, you have to go to Villeneuve, at best, or to Agen. He managed to convert his partner Margaux, who was also enthusiastic about “this fun sport”. So, they decided to carry out this project, so that fans of Fumélois can enjoy a sports complex that can be used in all seasons. “Especially since the existing grounds are in the open air,” underlines the 26-year-old young man. If he always wanted to work in the world of sport, it is at Point P in Villeneuve that he now earns his living. Another world. Just like Margaux, who takes care of communications at Terres & Beauté in Montayral – and who helps out from time to time at her parents’ store, Meubles Brifeille.
Three plots of 200 m², for the moment
Change of direction for the couple, who will be supported by a solid partner. They will collaborate with Lotihome, a Toulouse real estate developer led by Fabrice Chardin and Jacques Palau. They will participate in the construction of this new 1,250 m² building, which will soon be built in the Portes de Quercy area. The location, far from homes, suggests extensions and the means to organize outdoor events. “We have submitted the building permit, the work must begin within three months,” say Margaux and Yoan. Inside the complex, three 200 m² pitches with independent access, changing rooms but also a “clubhouse”, which will be on the mezzanine “with a view over the pitches”.
“It’s also the hallmark of padel, it’s conviviality. We want to follow the Spanish model. They are the kings of padel,” intone the two young Fumélois. They will participate in refining the installation, before the grand inauguration which should take place at the end of 2025 – at best – or the beginning of 2026. The name has not yet been decided, but there will be a bit of Margaux and Yoan in it. The padel Fumelois will soon have its temple.
