According to the daily Record, the Senegalese Federation (FSF) is intensifying its behind-the-scenes efforts to convince Malick Thiaw to join the Senegal Lions.

Currently a central defender for AC Milan, the player of Senegalese origin was called up to the German national team in June 2023, but has only played three friendly matches in the colors of the Nationalmannschaft.

In accordance with FIFA regulations, a player who has only played friendly matches with a selection can still change his sporting nationality and represent another nation, provided he meets the eligibility criteria. This situation leaves the door open for Malick Thiaw to wear the Teranga Lions jersey.

The FSF hopes to strengthen its squad by attracting this promising young talent, known for his defensive solidity and his versatility on the field. His integration could provide greater stability to the Senegalese defense and add depth to an already well-structured team.

Malick Thiaw, born August 8, 2001 in Düsseldorf, Germany, is a German international footballer playing as a central defender for AC Milan.
