A 3-1 victory in the 8th round of the Coupe de France which still brings joy to RC Saint-Joseph, but the preparation work for the 32nd final against Bastia (December 20) is tough. The Josephin club needs financial support and has therefore launched an online prize pool.
10 days before the match against SC Bastia, RC needs support. Qualified for the 32nd finals of the French Football Cup, the Josephin club is calling on the generosity of the Martinicans to cover the budget for this trip to Corsica.
The match against the professionals of SC Bastia is scheduled for Friday, December 20 at 3:45 p.m. (8:45 p.m. Paris time) and even if euphoria still surrounds the Josephin club, the budgetary reality of such an adventure is catching up with the club:
Today, support for the federation concerns a restricted group. So it is necessary to complete the list of players, particularly for training purposes, and then, it is also necessary to complete the coaching staff. When leaving in winter, there are additional costs for clothing, including tights, stockings, gloves etc. which we can only use once, but they are essential.

To ensure that the players are in the best conditions, there are expenses such as minibus rental, the cost of plane tickets and even overnight stays in a hotel, not to mention the imponderables:
And then, there are the expenses linked to medical follow-up that we try to cover. When we do the accounts, we realize that the FFF’s allocation is not sufficient. It is true that there are bonuses when we pass rounds, but we do not know when they will be paid so we are obliged to anticipate these needs.
The online prize pool launched by the club is a call for generosity and the club emphasizes that: “Each donation, whether small or large, will help to continue making this adventure a success. We thank you in advance for your help and support.”
Note that the municipality of Saint-Joseph – which had voted for an exceptional subsidy for the match on 8e tour in La Roche-sur-Yon – doubled its subsidy for the match against SC Bastia with an allocation of 6,000 euros.
RC Saint-Joseph wears the colors of Martinique in this national event and even if the opponent is a renowned professional club, the Joséphins and their supporters fully intend to play hard and who knows…
