FIFA’s new club competition – the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup™ – will take place in June and July 2025. 32 of the world’s biggest clubs will gather in the United States for the inaugural edition .
This truly global event will bring together the most successful clubs from each of the six international confederations: AFC, CAF, Concacaf, CONMEBOL, OFC and UEFA.

FIFA has unveiled the official FIFA Club World Cup trophy, which will be put into play for the first time in 2025, in November 2024.
Designed by FIFA and produced in collaboration with luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co, the trophy will be awarded to the winner of the inaugural edition of the new FIFA Club World Cup at the end of the final which will take place on July 13, 2025 at MetLife Stadium in New York–New Jersey.
How many teams are participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and how do they qualify?
A total of 32 teams will participate in the tournament, with places distributed among international football confederations as follows.

Africa – 4 CAF teams. Three via the champions route (CAF Champions League) and one via the ranking route.

Asia – 4 AFC teams. Three via the champions route (AFC Champions League) and one via the ranking route.

Europe – 12 UEFA teams. Four via the champions route (UEFA Champions League) and eight via the ranking route.

North America, Central America and the Caribbean – 4 Concacaf teams. All through the path of champions (Concacaf Champions Cup).

Oceania – 1 OFC team. By way of classification.

South America – 6 CONMEBOL teams. Four via the champions route (Copa Libertadores de la CONMEBOL) and two via the ranking route.

Host country – 1 team.
The following criteria also apply:

If a club wins two or more editions of the confederation’s most important club competition during the period 2021-2024, the ranking route will be used to determine the name of the other participating clubs.

A cap of two clubs per country will be applied to the access list, except in cases where more than two clubs from the same country win the confederation’s interclub competition during the four-year period.

What will be the format of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup?

The competition begins with a group stage consisting of eight groups of four teams. Each team plays the other teams in its group once.

The teams finishing in the first two places in each group qualify for the round of 16.
-
The round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final are then played, with a single knockout match in each round.
