“The one who really trusted me was Vincent Kompany”: a former player trained at Anderlecht confides before facing the Mauves in the Europa League – All football

A former Neerpede player, Simion Michez, will return to Anderlecht in the Europa League this Thursday. As this duel approaches, the former Mauve took the time to give his impressions.

Trained in Anderlecht, Simion Michez will return to his former team this Thursday in the Europa League. Happy since his signing in the Czech Republic at Slavia Prague, the former Neerpede spoke to the microphone of Sudinfo.

The Charleroi native reveals that he could have signed elsewhere: “There were also Basel and Union Saint-Gilloise, who were seduced by my good start to the season in the Pro League with Beerschot. My two goals and my assist in the space of six matches had left their mark. I could have imitated Sadiki and joined the Union, which was concrete. But Slavia was really the best choice.

But then, how does he place the level of Slavia in comparison with Belgium? “We would automatically play the Top 3 in Belgium,” he points out. “Our style of play partly corresponds to Czech football, with a lot of intensity and long balls, but we add individual touches. In particular, we can count on players who score goals quite easily and turn a match around.”

It will be very exciting

Michez prefaces the clash against his training club: “It will be very exciting. For the whole team but in particular for me, given all the memories I have stored up at Neerpede. Exciting, therefore, but far from being obvious for we who absolutely must take points in the Europa League, unlike Anderlecht who will come without pressure given their nice 11 out of 15 and their fifth place.”

The young player was then asked what he remembers from his years at Neerpede. “The many victories, the great game and the atmosphere with all the friends surrounded by excellent youth trainers like the physical trainer Hubert Lemaire,” he underlines. “But the one who really trusted me and allowed me to train with the first team when I was only 17 or 18 years old was Vincent Kompany!”
