French clubs in the Champions League this season? Rather a success. Tuesday December 10, during the 6e day of the C1, Stade Brestois signed a new feat against PSV Eindhoven (1-0), while PSG was finally reassured, by winning in Salzburg (3-0).
With these two victories, the four French clubs involved in the competition now have 12 since the start of the qualifying phase (out of their last 22 matches). A total that had not been reached since the 2009-2010 financial year, with 14 successes.
This number could also increase further this Wednesday evening since Lille faces Sturm Graz (6:45 p.m.) and Monaco challenges Arsenal (9 p.m.).

Stade Brestois, always more sensations
If PSG remains the last qualifier (24e2 wins, 1 draw, 3 losses) before the end of the day, the other French clubs are ideally ranked: Stade Brestois is 5e (4 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss); Monaco is 11e (3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss) and Lille 13e (3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss).
For their first European season, the Finisterians have everyone in agreement: four victories out of six matches, the best French record and a qualification at stake. Stade Brestois even became the first French team to win four of its first six matches in its history in the Champions League since AJ Auxerre in 1996 (4).
