The Nashville Predators’ poor start to the season is starting to weigh heavily on the team’s head coach Andrew Brunette.

Asked if he should send a few star players into the stands to send a message, the Tennessee team leader replied that he “could leave out all the players on the team.”

A statement that could potentially catch up with him if he were to be left aside permanently by team general manager Barry Trotz.

Despite several major additions during the off-season, the Predators had an atrocious start to the campaign with only seven wins in 28 games. They currently occupy last place in the overall standings of the National Hockey League (NHL) tied with the Chicago Blackhawks. However, they had two fewer victories.

What’s more, the team has lost its last seven games, including a 3-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens, and newcomers Steven Stamkos, Jonathan Marchessault and Brady Skjei are struggling to get going with their new lineup.

Stamkos and Marchessault have only collected 13 points in 28 games and have differentials of -16 and -12, respectively.

The “Preds” also learned yesterday that Quebec defenseman Alexandre Carrier was going to be absent for several weeks after being injured Saturday night against the Ottawa Senators.
