It hasn’t gone far yet in Crossac…
Yes, and it’s painful to see that we repeat the same end of the match as against Rennes or Le Mans. We dominate our subject and we are overtaken in the finale. We should only have three defeats and we have six today.
How to explain it?
Firstly by the fact that we have a young workforce and therefore not very experienced. Then because we are permanently understaffed between injuries and absences. In Crossac, we traveled with seven players with Clémence Léaustic from the reserve team who lent us a hand.
However, do you seem satisfied with your group?
Indeed, I find that we develop interesting basketball without being constant for forty minutes. Our lack of bench depth causes air gaps but that does not prevent our young players from progressing like Amel Paugam (17 years old) who scored 23 points this Sunday.
How do you see the rest of the championship?
We are going to have big matches against Rennes, Carquefou and Saint-Rogatien which should tell us more about our future in the division. I just regret not being able to have the squad initially planned because, instead of vegetating in the soft underbelly of the rankings, we could certainly have played for the top five, or even better.
