N2: Locminé succeeds in a great operation in Vendée

Dominated in the first period on Saturday, the Locminé players finally took the measure of Poiré-sur-Vie, a direct competitor for maintenance.

N2. Le Poiré-sur-Vie – Locminé: 0-1

The Locminois seem to be well recovered from the elimination at (National) in the 8th round of the French Cup last weekend. They won the promoted duel on Saturday at Poiré-sur-Vie, in difficult conditions: wind, cold, grass gradually deteriorating… This is their second victory in a row in the championship, after Châteaubriant (1-3).

The first half turned to the advantage of the Morbihannais, who quickly found the opening: Daubin’s blocked shot deceived the Vendée goalkeeper Cagnon (0-1, 15′). The break was not far away, with two clear chances not converted by Danso: his shot did not find the target (25′), then his header fled the target (32′), on crosses from Faussurier.

“We played with our weapons”

Le Poiré took the game into his own hands in the second period. The Vendéens could have equalized, notably through Touré, whose header, deflected by Freitas, crashed into Sy’s bar (75′). In the process, the Genôts found the base of the Locminois post. In stoppage time, Sy captured a header from Héguiabéhéré.

“We played with our weapons, without the suspended ones (six players), noted Locminois co-coach Jacques Pichard. The guys responded well, they must be congratulated. We could have scored a second goal at the very end. The objective was to win here, after the disillusionment at Le Mans…”

With this third away victory, Saint-Co gives itself some air in the standings, before two final matches to end the year: next Saturday against at the Pigeon-blanc stadium, then at Dinan-Léhon.
