A move to make

Still 15th and penultimate in Pro D2, VRDR has the opportunity this Friday to overtake a remaining competitor, in the event of a victory over (11th). With only 3 points behind the Cantalous, Fabien Fortassin’s men have the opportunity to redo their victory on a field where Soyaux-Angoulême and Nice have done well. It would be all the more interesting during of a weekend like the one that is looming, with the trip from (14th) to (12th) and that from (13th) to Nice (16th).

First match sheet for Humbert and Minguillon

Injured or out of shape for a long time, and not yet called upon to defend the Damiers jersey this season, hooker Brice Humbert and winger Gauthier Minguillon will have the joy of celebrating their first match sheet this Friday in Cantal. The first will be on the substitutes’ bench at kick-off, while the second will have the honor of starting on the wing for his return to Aurillac, where he wore the colors for four seasons.

The phrase: “get over the pressure”

Not yet above the fray, the Damiers want to at least get “above the pressure” which currently weighs on their shoulders, as three-quarter center Anatole Pauvert said: “Yes our results disturb us a bit. little, obviously we think about it, and there are also people who talk and what is said on social networks. It’s now up to us, as professionals, to get past that and handle that kind of pressure and bounce back.”

Like the number of victories of the VRDR in Aurillac, during the two meetings which took place between these two teams in Pro D2 on the Cantalous lawn. Defeated 18-12 in 2020, then 11-10 in 2023, the Damiers hope to give back to their opponent this Friday, after the victory of the SA XV at Pompidou last May (26-41). VRDR also won its two other home matches in 2019 (21-19) and 2021 (37-12). For the moment, the locals are leading 3-2 in this little accounting duel…
