Since his arrival at Real Madrid, Kylian Mbappé has been nothing more than a shadow of himself. Below the hopes placed on him, the French international admitted that he was going through a difficult period, thus promising to return to his best level.

Kylian Mbappé admitted he was going through a difficult period after missing another penalty in his team’s 1-2 defeat to Athletic Bilbao in La Liga, which pushed Real back behind leader Barcelona.

In the 68th minute, Bilbao goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala saved the penalty taken by Mbappé. Then, in the 80th minute, an error by Federico Valverde, who lost the ball, allowed Gorka Guruzeta to score the winning goal for Bilbao.

“A bad result. A significant error in a match where every detail counts. I take full responsibility for this defeat. It’s a difficult moment, but I see it as an ideal opportunity to change the situation and show who I am,” wrote the French star on Instagram.

Note that Mbappé had already missed a penalty during Real Madrid’s defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League last week.

However, he did not take the penalty won by his team in La Liga last Sunday. He did, however, score a goal in the 2-0 win over Getafe, reducing the pressure on him and the club.
