The league’s disciplinary committee ruled on the three players who received a red card during the 10th day of Top 14. Perpignan player Akato Fakatika was suspended for six weeks after his bad gesture against Toulouse on November 10 last.
The disciplinary committee delivered its verdict after the three red cards distributed on the different pitches of the Top 14, during the tenth day of the championship. Summoned after his uncontrolled clearance against Toulouse on November 10, Akato Fakatika was suspended for six weeks. Initially, the Perpignan resident had received an eight-week suspension, but his clean record and good behavior during his hearing led the commission to reduce his punishment to just six. The Catalan will therefore, in theory, be available again for his club when they host Cardiff. Even if the USAP has requested that its pillar follow a prevention program which could see this red card further reduced.
JJ Van der Mescht was also before the disciplinary committee following his high tackle on Henry Chavancy, during the Paris derby, still during the 10th day. Originally, the second South African received six weeks off. Sanction reduced to three weeks, but which was subsequently increased to four weeks due to a full disciplinary record. The Parisian will be requalified for the classic against Toulouse on December 29. The third and final case came before the commission, it was that of Alexandre Kuntelia. The La Rochelle pillar received a red against Castres for a high tackle on Louis Le Brun. As with Soldier Pink, the Georgian received a six-week suspension which later became three weeks thanks to good behavior and a lack of record. Kuntelia should therefore apply for the Clermont reception on December 21. In both cases, the clubs have requested that their players follow the World Rugby head contact program to reduce their downtime.
