Bayern Munich is eliminated from the Cup, and things are going badly in Germany. Vincent Kompany has not yet really managed to impress in big matches, in the eyes of the local press.
Vincent Kompany missed one of its major events of the season: Bayern Munich will not win the German Cup. After a blank season, all titles are important for the record champions, and here is already one that Kompany will not win.
After the dry elimination of the works of Bayer Leverkusen, Kompany was very criticized, and some questions were asked to him at a press conference about his record in big matches. Indeed, Bayern has sometimes missed out, as in the Champions League against Aston Villa and Barça, or in the league against Frankfurt, Bayer and Dortmund.
An opinion that Max Eberl, general director of Bayern Munich, who often accompanies Kompany at press conferences, absolutely does not share. “I know you like to be negative,” he told German journalists.
“I know you like to question everything. Well, I don’t care at all,” says Eberl. Within the Bavarian management, there is no doubt that Vincent Kompany is the man for the job.
Bayern Munich is still 4 points ahead of its closest pursuer in the German championship. But Kompany has no choice: he absolutely must win the Bundesliga – or the Champions League, otherwise his season will be judged as just as unsuccessful as the previous one.
