Le Havre Athletic Club (HAC), a Ligue 1 club, banned a 6-year-old fan from the stadium for two months for throwing projectiles onto the pitch, reports France Bleu Normandie, confirming information from the newspaper The Team.
The events took place on November 10 during the HAC-Stade de Reims meeting. The young supporter was filmed throwing paper cups and pieces of paper onto the pitch at the Océane stadium. His uncle, who accompanied him, was also banned from the stadium for three matches.
The end of the meeting between Le Havre and Stade de Reims was particularly stormy. The Le Havre coach and the goalkeeper coach of Le Havre Athletic Club received a red card. The Football League delegate present at the Océane stadium reported to the Le Havre club that projectiles were being thrown from the stands towards the pitch. It was by viewing the remote surveillance images that the club spotted the 6-year-old child throwing cardboard cups and pieces of paper without his uncle intervening, the HAC described to France Bleu Normandie.
The club then contacted the parents of the young supporter to explain to them that “the regulations do not distinguish between children and adults” and that any incident in a stadium deserves sanction.
