RSC Anderlecht will not play in the Final Four of the Futsal Champions League!
Sporting Brussels nevertheless won 3-2 (half-time: 2-1) in its last group meeting of the Elite Tour against Plzen (https://tinyurl.com/5e57p95a), Friday at Pavilhao Joao Rocha in Lisbon.
But the division of Sporting CP, 4-4 (half-time: 2-2) against Braga (https://tinyurl.com/cxvs3tj3) in a 100% Portuguese duel, leaves the Belgian champions in second place in the group C with six points.
Sporting CP reaches the last four of the competition thanks to its seven points.
Double by Lucas Perin
The Brussels residents fell behind after Dusan Kunstner’s goal (0-1, 11:38), but Alberto Saura restarted the match by equalizing a few seconds later (1-1, 12:00).
Lucas Perin put RSCA in control of the game just before the end of the first half (2-1, 17:11).
The break made by the same Lucas Perin in the second half allowed Anderlecht to take a step towards victory (3-1, 24:26).
Michal Holy shook the RSCA by reducing the score for the Czechs in the final moments of the match (3-2, 36:13).
But the score did not change after that.
The purple ones still second
Anderlecht had already come up against Sporting CP in its first match (1-4) before largely defeating Braga (6-1) in its second group meeting.
The sixteen teams present at the Elite Tour were divided into four groups.
Only the group winners qualified for the Final Four which will be played from May 1 to 4, 2025.
Anderlecht had already failed to finish second in their group in the Elite Tour last season.
Coach Lucas Cragnaz’s team won twice in Lisbon, but were ultimately preceded by the group favorite playing at home.
Anderlecht will meet its fans at Roosdaal on Friday December 6 (9:15 p.m.) for the reception of Fal Soumagne.
