PSV Eindhoven striker Couhaib Driouech suffered a serious ankle injury during training this week. This injury will keep him away from the field for several months, a hard blow for the young player and for the club.

PSV announced the news, specifying that the duration of his unavailability would be several weeks. The 22-year-old Moroccan, who joined the club last summer from Excelsior for a fee of €3.5 million, has already made twelve appearances for PSV, scoring two goals and providing two assists decisive.

“It’s obviously extremely annoying, but I also know that this kind of risk is part of our job,” the player told the club’s website. Despite the disappointment, Driouech maintains his morale and is determined: “I hope to come back stronger”.

PSV will therefore have to do without its services for an indefinite period. The club said an update on his situation would be provided as soon as Driouech was able to return to training.
