Riding his Ducati-Pramac, Jorge Martin won ahead of the surprising Portuguese Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia-Trackhouse), who started second on the grid. Third place went to the double reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), who is second in the championship.

Martin widens the gap in the standings

Overall, thanks to this victory, “Martinator” has gained some breathing space and now has a 15-point lead over his runner-up Bagnaia at the finish of this race of just 15 laps (compared to 30 for the Grand Prix on Sunday), which allows him to collect more points in the championship.

The other official Ducati, that of Italian Enea Bastianini, finished at the foot of the podium, ahead of another Italian, Franco Morbidelli (Ducati-Pramac), in fifth.

Quartararo and Zarco in great difficulty

From a distant 13e position, six-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez, 3e championship, once again made a fantastic comeback to cross the finish line sixth. Frenchmen Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) and Johann Zarco (Honda-LCR) finished 13th respectivelye et 17e.
