Team N’side is happy with this. This Friday afternoon, during the team time trial of the Tour du Piémont Pyrénéen, the N2 took 5th place in a collective effort dominated by the Vendée U (see ranking). “We had expectations for this time trial, even if only three riders had time trial bikes. We are satisfied with this performance.”promises Félix Bouchard, the group’s strongman, to DirectVelo.

Each of the six athletes on the team fought with the strength of their day. Physically limited, Frenchman Joseph Pierrat fought hard but was unable to help his troops for as long as he would have liked. “I did my best but I was quickly let down”Same thing for Quebecer Léonard Peloquin. “Unfortunately I wasn’t able to help the team as much as I wanted, I didn’t have the legs. But the guys delivered.”.

“TWO MORE BEAUTIFUL CARDS”

Joël Plamondon felt good and pushed hard on the pedals, even though he didn’t have a specialist bike. “I still had the extension and the helmet. I had to manage my effort more, take fewer relays. All the guys worked really well, there was very good cohesion. I think that in these conditions, we worked well, we don’t finish so far from the winners”.

After Lorenzo Marasco’s 4th place in the sprint this afternoon (read here), here is a second Top 5 in as many stages for Team N’Side. Can the series continue this weekend? “We still have two good cards to play”promises Léonard Peloquin, who evokes a shared leadership between Carson Miles and Felix Bouchard for the most difficult stage.
