The National Anti-Doping Organization of Senegal (ONADS) has reaffirmed its commitment to a doping-free sport, specifying the circumstances of the absence of wrestler Ousmane Senghor, alias Siteu, during anti-doping controls carried out after his fight on November 24, 2024 against Doudou Lo (Modou Lo). ONADS indicated that, despite several attempts to approach, Siteu’s staff obstructed the access of the control agents, thus preventing the wrestler from undergoing the procedure. The ONADS announces that it will take, in collaboration with the CNG of wrestling, appropriate sanctions for this violation of the anti-doping rules.

Faithful to its mission to protect the rights of all athletes to practice their sport without doping and to contribute to the integrity of sport, the ONADS carried out in-competition controls, as it has recently done for others disciplines such as football, basketball, athletics, etc.
During the control operation, it was noted that the SITEU wrestler did not respect his obligation to make himself available to the control team for the anti-doping control formalities.

It is important to remember that the control team attempted several times to contact the wrestler SITEU, but the wrestler’s staff prevented them from having access to the athlete.
Indeed, before the fight, the ONADS control agent summoned the staff of the two wrestlers to remind them that at the end of the fight, the two athletes would be checked and that they had to make themselves available to the control team.
At the end of the fight, wrestler Modou Lo reported to the control station to complete all the formalities of the control procedure.
On the other hand, the staff of the SITEU wrestler prevented the ONADS agents from giving him the notification to reach the control station and carry out his control procedure.
It should be remembered that evading an anti-doping control constitutes a violation of the anti-doping rules and is subject to sanctions.
ONADS, in collaboration with the CNG, will decide on the sanctions to be taken.
For a doping-free sport and for the integrity of sport, let’s play fair.
