Anderlecht lost Samuel Edozie to injury this Thursday. But David Hubert didn’t seem worried.

What if David Hubert had somehow been forced by fate by having to take Samuel Edozie out with an injury this Thursday evening? The English winger struggled to be decisive despite several successful dribbles, lacking precision in the last gesture.

Francis Amuzu replaced him… and immediately hurt Porto’s defense. Edozie’s substitute then equalized with a superb strike shortly after the Portuguese 1-2. But Samuel Edozie’s injury was of course not “good news”.

However, David Hubert did not seem pessimistic about him after the meeting. Edozie was in fact able to go out walking – albeit painfully – on his injured leg, and even hoped to get back on the lawn.

“I’m not a doctor. But Samuel knew how to walk more or less normally after the meeting,” revealed David Hubert after the meeting. “In reality, he even wanted to go straight back onto the pitch, but we didn’t want to take the slightest risk.”

Samuel Edozie, unlike Killian Sardella, should not miss long weeks of competition. “Don’t kill me now if it turns out that he misses the next training sessions (laughs). But I think we can be quite optimistic,” concluded Hubert.
