At the helm of the Paris criminal court this Friday, November 29, Boubacar, childhood friend of Paul Pogba, is rather talkative and very comfortable. Dressed in a black suit and a white shirt, the man is the fourth defendant questioned by the president in the trial which bears the name of the French world champion.
“He gave me €20,000”
If he first wanted to clarify that he had not “nothing to see, neither near nor far, in this whole story”he returned to a remarkable episode which demonstrates the generosity, perhaps naive, of the midfielder. On March 21, two days after the night of the sequestration in an apartment in Montévrain (Seine-et-Marne), Paul Pogba went to Clairefontaine (Yvelines) in the company of Machikour, Adama and Boubacar.

In the car before getting off, to honor Didier Deschamps’ summons, “La Pioche”, his nickname, will take out three envelopes and distribute them. He gives €15,000 in cash to Adama and Machikour, which the latter confirmed during their interrogation on Wednesday and Thursday. “He gave me €20,000 and said to me: ‘you will give a little to aunt and uncle’”explains Boubacar, who notably worked with Yeo Moriba, the Pogba’s mother, as a driver.
