After a brilliant year in sporting terms, Remco Evenepoel is taking full advantage of his rest period. The Olympic champion also appeared at Lotto Park yesterday to watch Anderlecht face Porto.
“Now I can finally do things that are impossible during the season,” said Remco Evenepoel declared after the meeting. Relaxation is not limited to the football stadium. On Instagram, Evenepoel shared a video in which he presents his new car, a brand new BMW M5.
“It’s definitely a good time,” he beamed. A well-deserved gift after a year where he made history on his bike, winning two gold medals at the Paris Olympics.
Although the rest period is ideal for relaxing, Evenepoel also remains very busy. “It’s not really a vacation anymore,” he admits. “But this period is a mixture of training, rest and doing impossible things the rest of the year. That’s why I’m here,” he told Play during halftime of the match.
However, Evenepoel never manages to completely escape the cameras. Netflix is reportedly following him for a documentary about his life and career. “Normally, this documentary would come out in July,” he reveals. “They were also supposed to film me tonight, but that got canceled.”
