With six new tries scored, all by three-quarters, the Brivistes proved that their line play was taking shape.

As the head of the Vendée Globe fleet arrives in the roaring forties, the CAB has taken a little lead. Against , the Brivistes scored six tries to cross the mark of forty achievements this season, after twelve days – 43 tries, an average of 3.6 per match. Enough to delight the Corrèze manager, Pierre-Henry Broncan. “We are the best attack in terms of tries scored. I say this because I don't read it often… We scored a lot again, we took a new offensive bonus at home (the fourth in six games, Editor's note). It’s very positive.”

And the results could have been even better, as the Brivist waves swept over the Montalbanais in the first half. But some inaccuracies at the time of conclusion like this forward from the powerful winger Asaeli Tuivuaka when flattening out wide, tarnished the picture. “At halftime we didn't get paid by only leading 17-3, recognizes the technician… We are not achieving enough in the scoring areas despite our numerous opportunities.”

Three-quarter wind at your back

If the forwards did not know how to take advantage after throw-ins, scrums or penalties played manually, as usual, they often put their own in the advance. But this time, it was their three-quarters, who have had the wind in their sails for three outings, who benefited, since the six Corrèze attempts were all scored by the backs! “I don't think I've ever experienced that here, smiled full-back Mathis Ferté. A month ago, I said that the system was being put in place, and today the work is paying off. We manage to find ourselves. It's nice to play like that between three quarters. We obviously take more pleasure in attacking, in breaking, in scoring.”

The scorer of the second try was quickly joined by winger Erwan Dridi, author of a new double to join hooker Lucas Da Silva with seven goals at the top of this honorary ranking. “Before the match, the message was to let go, and that's what we did. We gain confidence. We know we have potential behind us. As the matches go on, the team comes more in addition to letting go and there is a good link between the forwards and the three-quarters, so it’s positive.” An observation shared by their manager, Pierre-Henry Broncan, to conclude. “We have an offensive game that is progressing. Today, I think people had fun. If we don't do anything, if we don't move on the pitch, if we don't take initiatives, we won't score tries like we scored this evening. Let's continue on this path, being even more efficient near the lines.”
