Serge Gakpé had been without a club for several months. He finally decided to end his career.
At 37, Sergé Gakpé was one of those players who failed to find a club this summer. Even as a free profile, he did not find the right fit after his last adventure in the Cypriot club APEA Akrotiri.
He announced his retirement on his social networks: “Football has offered me much more than a job, it has allowed me to meet people from the four corners of the world, to travel, to learn new languages, new cultures and different ways of thinking,” he writes.
From football to fashion
During the second part of the 2011/2012 season, the Togolese international was loaned to Standard by FC Nantes. Regularly starting, he had not really made an impression on his left side.
After his brief stay in Sclessin, the native of Bondy had passed through Genoa, Atalanta, Chievo Verona, Amiens, Cercle de Bruges and finally several stints in Cyprus at the end of his career.
The rest is already known to him: Serge Gakpé launched his own clothing brand in 2021 and will now be able to devote himself 100% to it.
