Thanksgiving in the NFL, a big festive day to honor John Madden

Follow the Thanksgiving games from 12:30 p.m. on RDS and on RDS.ca

Week 13 of activities in the NFL is marked by festivities with the presentation of the traditional Thanksgiving games on Thursday, while a tripleheader will kick off the festivities among the Americans.

While the Lions will host the Bears, the Cowboys will host the Giants and the Packers will finish with the Dolphins, the NFL will continue its tradition of honoring the memory of the legendary John Madden who was, for many years, associated with the great Thanksgiving tradition.

The former coach and analyst, who died in 2021 at the age of 85, is also recognized as the face of a video game franchise in addition to having been, for several generations, the voice associated with NFL games. Also, incidentally, the legendary Madden popularized the mythical “Turducken” as a culinary delicacy among our southern neighbors.

On Thursday, to honor the immortal Madden, the teams in action will once again wear commemorative patches with the silhouette of the colorful character.

Additionally, match action will be dictated by a special coin during coin flips.

Beautiful tributes in addition to a hashtag, #MaddenThanksgiving, for a big name in the history of the circuit.
