Often injured and rarely used since the start of this season, Atlas Lion Hakim Ziyech, announced to be leaving Galatasaray, has an extension option in his contract, according to coach Okan Buruk.
“Hakim Ziyech has some playing time to play with us, it was the same thing last season. If he reaches the desired number of matches, his contract is extended for an additional year. Nobody wants Ziyech to leave as long as he plays well and plays matches with the team,” said the Galatasaray coach.
Hakim Ziyech’s contract includes a one-year extension clause, provided he plays 15 matches. If the captain of the Atlas Lions, who has already played 8 matches this season, plays 7 additional matches, his contract will be automatically extended until the end of the 2025/26 season.
During the last summer transfer window, rumors sent the former Ajax player (31 years old) towards the Qatar Stars League, the Eredivisie or even the Greek championship, but it was nothing of the sort! The negotiations were apparently unsuccessful.
