The calm before the storm?

Unlike the day before, where the first kilometers were just fun, the riders are much more tense this Thursday and there is a reason for that: the weather. Indeed, between the few showers and the side wind, the situation could be dangerous. In the first and only difficulty of the day, the Col du Bois Clair (1.7km at 5.8%), two men take to their heels, the polka dot jersey Jonas Abrahamsen (Uno-X Mobility) et Axel Zingle (Cofidis). After a few kilometers past the peloton, the two riders finally decide to stop their effort and are caught.

The pace is not very high, but the peloton is still tense, each team leads its train at the head of the group as if it were the last 30 kilometers, while there are still more than 100 kilometers to go. During the intermediate sprint, it is Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) who takes the lead in front of the green jersey Biniam Girmay (Intermarché-Wanty) and Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek).
