The Green story continues for Aïmen Moueffek!

After reaching 100 matches in Green during the return play-off for promotion to the elite, won by ASSE in Metz last month, Aïmen Moueffek is now aiming for a new milestone with his training club! The Moroccan U23 international, who arrived at ASSE at the age of 10, went through the football school and then the training, continues the adventure by extending his contract in Forez until 2028 as well as an option for an additional season.

Since his first minutes as a professional, in September 2020 on the pitch of the Stade Vélodrome, Aïmen Moueffek has continued to climb the ranks with the ASSE first team. After experiencing the sadness of relegation, the midfielder has become one of the cornerstones of the Saint-Etienne promotion project, playing 57 matches in the space of two years in the antechamber of Ligue 1. The Green at heart did not take long to convince Olivier Dall’Oglio who started him eighteen times, notably during the three decisive matches, against Rodez and Metz, played by ASSE in the race for promotion.

A duel player, always ready to sacrifice himself in midfield, but just as comfortable with the ball at his feet, Aïmen Moueffek has also transformed into a goalscorer in recent weeks. His goals against Caen (1-0), then against Guingamp in the wake (2-2), have also contributed to sending ASSE back into the elite. Like the Greens, Aïmen Moueffek will return to the elite of French football for this 2024-2025 season. The logical next step for a child of the club!

Aimen Moueffek: “I am the happiest! I am leaving with ASSE with pride and happiness. I can’t wait to start this season in L1 after having achieved the objective of an entire club, an entire people. We have managed to get back into the elite, now we have to perform there. I also thank all the supporters for their messages. See you soon in the Chaudron!”

Olivier Dall’Oglio, ASSE host:I am very happy to see Aïmen, a child of the club and the football school, signing up for the long term under the Green jersey. It is important to keep this identity from the Training Center. I really wanted to see him stay after the great season he had. He already knows Ligue 1, but he will discover it a little more, because he will be one of the important players in the squad.
