Raja Casablanca won its 9th Throne Cup football title (2022-2023 season) by beating AS FAR 2 goals to 1, in the final played on Monday at the Grand Stade d’Agadir.

The “Green and Whites” opened the scoring through Yousri Bouzok (4th), before Amine Zouhzouh equalized for the Military in the 28th minute. Mohamed Boulacsoute scored the goal that delivered Raja Casablanca in the 78th minute.

Buoyed by their national football championship title, Raja Casablanca started the match with a bang, scoring in the 4th minute through Yousri Bouzok.

This early goal pushed Nasreddine Nabi’s men to take control of the match after a mixed start, increasing the pressure on the Raja Casablanca defense which gave way in the 28th minute to a goal from Amine Zouhzouh.

Back from the locker room, the debates were rather tight between the two protagonists who tried to regain the advantage in a match with a taste of revenge.

Mohamed Boulacsoute surprised the Military by scoring the winning goal for Raja in the 78th minute, putting a favourable end to an attack that was elaborate from end to end of the pitch.

After this goal, the AS FAR players threatened several times in an attempt to get back into the game, without succeeding.

With this victory, Raja Casablanca has brought an exceptional season to a close in style, in which it remained undefeated.

With this new title, Raja wins its 9th Throne Cup and rises to 2nd position among the most successful clubs in this competition alongside its rival Wydad Casablanca, and behind its opponent of the day, AS FAR (12 titles).

At the end of this match, the Throne Cup trophy was presented to the captain of Raja Casablanca, Anas Zniti, by the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, in the presence of the President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa.

On this occasion, the Futsal Throne Cup was awarded to the Faucon d’Agadir club, while AS FAR received the Ladies’ Football Throne Cup.
