How much will General Motors pay to join F1 in 2026?
The amount is not officially known since the teams, F1 and the FIA have still not signed the Concorde Agreements which govern commercial rights for the period from 2026 to 2030.
However, it was necessary to agree on a figure and according to several sources, the anti-dilution fund will increase from 200 to 450 million dollars for any new entrant during these 5 seasons.
That’s 450 million to be spent by GM for its Cadillac F1 Team, with an engine and drivers still unknown for 2026.
The sum will be paid by GM and the American group TWG Global (which took over Andretti Global), in a ratio still unknown between the two but which should be 50% for each.
Remember that 63% of F1 revenues are paid to the teams, but they will be divided into 11 parts instead of 10 once General Motors enters the fray with Cadillac. The teams will therefore also receive 63% of this 450 million, in equal shares, or 28.3 million dollars for each.
“By then, the pie will certainly have grown even bigger so that each team loses nothing, just like the FOM. With the arrival of GM, it’s a big boost guaranteed in the USA and that’s why the teams quickly said ‘yes’ to this change in strategy for the 11th entrant,” explain the financial analysts specializing in the results of the FOM.
