NHL: Paul Bissonnette attacked by six men in a restaurant

Former NHL player Paul Bissonnette, who played more than 200 games, was attacked by six men at a restaurant in Scottsdale, Arizona on Sunday, according to police.

“There was an altercation inside the restaurant with six adult men and the managers. Paul Bissonnette allegedly tried to help employees calm the men down and make them leave. The situation led to the men assaulting Paul Bissonnette inside and outside the restaurant. said Police Sergeant Allison Sempsis in a statement.

Bissonnette took to social media Monday to say it was okay and explain what happened in the restaurant.

The six men were arrested and charged with assault and disturbing the peace.

Selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fourth round of the 2003 draft, Bissonnette recorded seven goals, 15 assists and 340 penalty minutes in 202 games with the Penguins and Phoenix Coyotes, between 2008 and 2014.

Since retiring from professional hockey in 2017, the 39-year-old has been a public figure in the media world as a podcast host and analyst for TNT.
