Andy Murray, former world No. 1 and retired since this season, will coach Novak Djokovic. The two former rivals are expected to collaborate at least until the end of the 2025 Australian Open.
Big surprise. Novak Djokovic, separated from Goran Ivanisevic since March, announced this Saturday his collaboration with… Andy Murray. The Scotsman and former world No. 1 was one of the Serbian's biggest rivals for several seasons.
He will now coach the current world No. 7, at least until the end of the 2025 Australian Open. Novak Djokovic announced the news on his social networks, with a video montage showing their biggest confrontations. “He never liked retirement anyway,” the Serbian joked.
“I’m thrilled to have one of my biggest rivals on the same side of the net as me, this time as a coach. I look forward to starting the season with Andy and having him by my side in Melbourne, where we have shared many exceptional moments throughout our careers,” Novak Djokovic said in a statement.
