The rivalry between Club Brugge and Anderlecht is not limited to the field, but also extends to the transfer market. The two clubs regularly find themselves competing for the same targets, and Vince Osuji is the latest example.
Anderlecht in the footsteps of Osuji
According to the Swedish media SportbladetBlauw-Zwart and Paars-Wit are both interested in Vince Osuji, an 18-year-old Nigerian central defender. Currently under contract with Kalmar FF until the end of 2028, Osuji plays for a club that has just suffered relegation from the Swedish top flight.
Recruited only a few months after his departure from Nigeria, Kalmar FF could already be forced to sell the young talent. Anderlecht and Slavia Prague are among the main candidates, but many other European clubs are also in the mix.
Competition from Club Brugge and European giants
In addition to Club Brugge, teams like Chelsea, Bologna, Olympique Lyonnais, Reims, PAOK, as well as American franchises FC Dallas and FC Cincinnati, are also said to be interested in Osuji. Its market value is estimated at just under a million euros.
A departure from Kalmar FF seems inevitable
Kalmar FF sporting director Jörgen Petersson has confirmed the serious interest in Osuji. It is therefore likely that the player will leave Sweden soon. It remains to be seen whether Belgium will be his next destination or whether a foreign club will win the battle.
