MotoGP, Pecco Bagnaia, takes stock of the latest defections from Ducati: “out of four riders three very strong ones have left and are going to other manufacturers”

Two-time MotoGP world champion Pecco Bagnaia shared his thoughts at Assen regarding the recent situation at Ducati following the integration of Marc Marquez at Mugello. This strategic decision led to the loss of competitive riders like Jorge Martin and Enea Bastianini, as well as the end of the historic partnership with the Pramac team, which will sport the Yamaha colors from next season.

Pecco Bagnaia analyzed the situation following recent events that have shaken up the transfer market, with a new direction for the team
Pramac. « In recent years with Pramac I have had the opportunity to compare my data with that of a rider like Martin and all this will obviously disappear. I don’t know who will take the place, whether it’s Gresini or the VR46 team. It will be different anyway. We will have two fewer bikes next year. Even if this may mean less work for Ducati engineers, it will be an important step. Different but not worse. »

Pecco Bagnaia: « I don’t know if it’s all linked to Marc’s arrival, maybe it was just for Martin »

Bagnaia also admitted on GPOne that he does not have all the internal information on the decisions taken. The decisions that were taken must surely have had reasons.. What is certain however is that out of the 4 drivers, 3 have left. Three very strong drivers who are going to other manufacturers. I don’t know if it’s all linked to Marc’s arrival, maybe it was just for Martin. »

Despite these changes, Bagnaia is ultimately not so unhappy, even if
Ducati finds himself with two fewer motorcycles in the future. I don’t mean to say that this change is necessarily a step backwards, » he sums up. Bagnaia seems ready to meet the challenges ahead, with an optimistic outlook on the adjustments and evolution of Ducati.
