Yamaha and Prima Pramac Racing have announced a multi-year partnership. Prima Pramac Racing will become Yamaha’s “second factory team” from 2025 while remaining an independent team on the MotoGP™ grid.

This agreement will see close collaboration between the two parties including Yamaha supplying factory specification YZR-M1 motorcycles to Prima Pramac Racing. Riders will be directly engaged by Yamaha, and MotoGP™ engineering personnel contracted to Yamaha will work in collaboration with members of the Pramac team.

The Prima Pramac Racing driver line-up for 2025 will be announced in due course. By doubling its current presence on the MotoGP™ grid next year, Yamaha intends to loudly assert its intention to return to victory in the near future.

Lin Jarvis, Managing Director of Yamaha Motor Racing: “This is a busy time for Yamaha, both on and off the track. Yamaha Motor Co. (YMC) and Yamaha Motor Racing (YMR) have never hidden the fact that they are devoting all their efforts to motorcycle development.”

“We are now entering the next phase, the one we have been waiting for a long time: the arrival of a second Yamaha team.”

“This new partnership with Prima Pramac Racing will take a different form than what we have had in the past.”

“Rather than a satellite team, Yamaha trusts Pramac Racing and we will provide them with factory bikes that meet the same specifications as those used by the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP™ team.”

“The goals are to accelerate the development of the bikes, which remains the main priority for YMC and YMR in our quest to return to winning ways, and to have four competitive riders in the MotoGP™ championship within two top teams.”

“In addition to the MotoGP™ program, our collaboration includes a future Moto2™ project that will serve to train future MotoGP™ riders. It is still too early to give details on this program, which will be developed in the coming months.”

“I would like to personally thank Paolo Campinoti, CEO of Pramac, and Gino Borsoi, Team Manager of Prima Pramac Racing, for the trust they place in Yamaha. We have the greatest respect for their team and assure them of our full commitment to making this new partnership a great success for many years to come.”
