The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) is banging its fist on the table. While the elections within the various sports federations are in full swing, numerous controversies are emerging. In boxing, Sarah Ourahmoune notably threw in the towel after receiving racist and sexist messages, while Estelle Mossely denounced “rumors and defamatory messages”. Many lists in different disciplines have also been invalidated.
This Wednesday, the CNOSF wanted to recall “its ethical recommendations for federal electoral campaigns”. In a press release, the members of the Executive Office recalled the “rules based on the values of respect and tolerance, likely to guarantee the conduct of federal elections in democratic and peaceful conditions. » “The CNOSF wishes to reaffirm that candidates and their supporters must adopt dignified and measured behavior”, we can read.
“Some comments that were made are completely unacceptable,” declares the president of the CNOSF, David Lappartient. I strongly condemn comments of this nature which attack the dignity of people. I assure full support to those who have been victims. We will not fail to take stock and draw lessons from this electoral event. » The sports law of March 2, 2022, which aimed to democratize sport in France, is already criticized. An analysis will be done after the elections.
