A hell of a performance, even more so for an amateur cyclist. Canadian Jack Burke, 29, achieved the best Strava time on Saturday November 16 of the legendary climb of Mortirolo (11.9 km at 10.9%), which was established by Vincenzo Nibali at the 2019 Giro.

“I just want a chance on the World Tour”

A time of 43 minutes and 45 seconds, more than a minute better than the Sicilian’s previous record (44’52”). On top of that, Burke also holds the best Strava time of the equally legendary Passo dello Stelvio. The amateur rider hopes to attract the attention of World Teams.

“I just want to have a chance on the World Tour. No matter the team, no matter where. I’m ready for anything, I just want to compete against the best runners in the world.”he wrote on Strava.

Burke is not unknown, however, since he has long ridden for continental teams in the past. He defended the colors of Jelly Belly p/b Maxxis, Leopard Pro Cycling and Team Vorarlberg. Six years ago, he won a stage victory at the Tour de Beauce.
