While Spain faces the Netherlands in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup in Malaga this Tuesday (from 5 p.m.), for the potential last match of Rafael Nadal’s career, the latter spoke at length before say goodbye to tennis, in comments reported by the Madrid media AS :

“I’m not worried about the rest of my life, I had periods where I couldn’t play tennis due to injuries. Today the approach is different. I accept the challenge of a major change in my life. You have to accept the process. I don’t know if it’s difficult, but it’s different and you have to respect the process. What I will probably miss the most is the feeling of competition, going on the pitch and seeing the fans during big matches. Ultimately, it’s the adrenaline you feel during, before and after matches. I will have things that make me happy and give me other feelings, but that adrenaline is hard to find outside of professional sports. »
