Cycling. Tour of Slovakia – L’Okolo Slovenska with Alaphilippe, Sagan… The route

Who will win the 2024 edition of the Tour of Slovakia ? One thing is certain: it will be a new winner. Winner of the last edition, Remi Cavagna will not defend his title since his new team (Movistar Team) did not make the trip to Slovakia. The succession is therefore open. Among the contenders for the general classification, one name stands out, that of Julian Alaphilippe. One month from Paris Olympic Gamesthe Frenchman of the Soudal Quick-Step will be keen to shine.

Sagan, Magnier, Schmid… the other headliners

Even if Julian Alaphilippe is the big favorite, other runners will be worth watching like Mauro Schmid, Felix Engelhardt (Jayco AlUla), Jenno Berckmoes, Sylvain Moniquet (Lotto Dstny), Kenny Elissonde (Cofidis) or even Paul Double (Polti Kometa). As for the sprinters, we will also find some good names including Paul Magnier (Soudal Quick-Step), Milan Menten (Lotto Dstny), Max Walscheid (Jayco AlUla), Giacomo Nizzolo (Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team) or even the locals Luke Cabbage (Elkov-Kasper) et Peter Sagan (Pierre Baguette Cycling).

These riders should logically be among the protagonists of this new edition which will be contested over five days, from June 26 to 30. Note that this Tour of Slovakia 2024 will begin with a team time trial, followed by two sprint stages and two mid-mountain stages.
