The Black Devils of Combani are due to play the eighth round of the French Football Cup in Corsica this Tuesday evening. The meeting could be canceled or postponed. Their previous opponent, US Crépy, filed an appeal accusing them of having used fraudulent medical certificates, which the Mahorais refute.
The Black Devils of Combani must play this Tuesday, November 19 at 10 p.m., Mayotte time, the eighth round of the French Football Cup against the Corsicans of USC Corte. It remains to be seen whether the meeting will be maintained after the appeal filed by US Crépy, beaten by the Mahorais on penalties this Saturday for the seventh round.
If the Oise club recognizes its defeat on the field, it accuses the Combani footballers of cheating, of having used fraudulent medical certificates. A single letter from a doctor would have been photocopied and used for three different players, even if only one would have participated in the match. “Date, signature, everything is the same”, explains the treasurer of US Crépy-en-Valois. It’s cheating, it’s very serious.”
According to the Black Devils, everything was done according to the rules: the pre-filled certificates provided by thehe federation would have been completed individually for each player, then scanned to be sent to France. “As these are confidential documents, we do not know how they have access to them.“, wonders Rachadi Said, the vice-president of the Black Devils. “We do not understand this relentlessness, these are defamatory comments. It’s small of them.” In its appeal, US Crépy requests the annulment of the results and a victory on the green carpet.
For the moment, neither the Mahorais nor their Corsican opponent have been informed of a decision concerning this evening’s meeting. Before a possible cancellation, the federation must hear the Black Devils in committee. It can also postpone the match while it considers this appeal. A new complication for the Combani club, which already has to do without a large part of its holders, prohibited from traveling because they are in an irregular situation.
