Organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI by the Royal Society for the Encouragement of the Horse (SOREC)the 10th edition of Morocco International Meeting (MIM) offered a high-level spectacle to English thoroughbred enthusiasts on Saturday at the Casablanca racecourse. The MIM, which this year celebrates a decade of success and contribution to Morocco’s influence on the world horse racing scene, offered eight races on the occasion of the inaugural day. So the horse «Al-Othmane»property of Mohammed Aziz Bennani and edited by Aziz Jabafipicked up the HM King Mohammed VI Grand Prix for English ThoroughbredsSaturday at the Casablanca-Anfa racecourse.
The Breeders’ Grand Prixhe returned to horse “Lady Aida”property of Nicola Pucci Bloodstock and edited by Janacek Vaclav. The Owners’ Grand Prix was won by “Black Gangster”, owned by Tobias Jones and ridden by Guillaume Guedj-Gay, while the SOREC Grand Prix, which is part of the international “Défi du Galop” series, was smiled at “Shining Dawn”, owned by Samir Fannane and ridden by Zouhaïr Madihi.
Saturday also saw the holding of a meeting organized by the Mediterranean Horse Riding Union. The Morocco International Meeting offered, for its 10th edition, a total of 14 races, including eight international competitions spread over two days. The event was broadcast on four continents and in more than 20 countries, including the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Turkey, Sweden, Ivory Coast, Italy and France.
