In the early morning, the oldest of the race (65 years old) was 20 nautical miles ahead of his first pursuer Alan Roura (Hublot), and 35 over Sébastien Simon (Groupe Dubreuil), third in this 10th edition of the race to the sailing solo, non-stop and without assistance. But the winds weakened in the east while they increased in the west.
The seventh night of racing was marked by the damage that occurred on Bureau Vallée, helmed by Louis Burton who, after hearing a “big crack”, noticed cracks on the deck of his boat. Even though the structure of the Imoca could be affected, Burton decided to stay in the race.
