Beijing – Bilal Benhammou, winner of the 2024 edition of the “Master Zlayji” competition, won the bronze medal during the International Competition for the Best Tiler (Global Tiler Competition), organized in Shanghai, China by Sika BFM China.

China was crowned champion of this competition, followed by Ecuador and Morocco, indicate Super Cérame and Sika Maroc in a joint press release.

The competition took place in two stages: a theoretical test on November 8, followed by a practical test on November 9, the press release specifies.

Bilal Benhammou was able to climb onto the podium thanks to his exceptional performances, confirming the extent of Moroccan mastery and expertise in the art of ceramic installation, facing 56 participants from 13 countries competing for the first places.

Morocco is participating in this prestigious competition for the second time, an initiative made possible thanks to the complete training cycles combining theory and practice offered by Super Cérame, a subsidiary of Ynna Holding, national leader in the manufacturing of ceramic tiles, and Sika Maroc, key player in the construction sector (building and public works).

These two companies have joined forces to organize “Master Zlayji 2024”, a unique national competition, dedicated to Moroccan ceramic installers and aimed at promoting excellence in this sector.

The 2024 edition of “Master Zlayji” brought together 1,500 participants, setting a new record and tripling the number of registrations compared to the first edition.

This success demonstrates the growing interest of professionals in the sector for this now unmissable event, and reflects the commitment of Super Cérame and Sika Maroc to supporting and promoting national talent.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Super Cérame and Sika Maroc for the implementation of the “Master Zlayji” project, which promotes and rewards the know-how of Moroccan tilers,” declared Bilal Benhammou, quoted in the press release.

“The competition in Morocco has nothing to envy of the international one. The national event was organized with as much care and professionalism as the one in China,” he added.

For more than 50 years, Super Cérame has positioned itself as a major player in the Moroccan economy, with four production sites, five showrooms and a network of 5,000 references.

The company trains more than 1,000 installers each year and, thanks to a daily production of 120,000 m², ranks among the top 20 global producers of ceramic tiles.

Present since 1979, Sika Morocco offers chemical solutions for construction and industry, covering all aspects, from foundation to roofing.

With five factories across Morocco, the company stands out for its quality and commitment to sustainability, working closely with professionals to raise the standards of the sector in the Kingdom.
