Ilias Akhomach underwent successful knee surgery after an injury sustained during the match against Deportivo Alavés, Villarreal announced in a press release this Friday, November 15.
“Ilias Akhomach underwent surgery today following a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. The intervention was carried out by Dr Juan Carles Monllau in Barcelona, in collaboration with the club’s medical services »wrote the La Liga club.

Ilias Akhomach was forced to give up his place in the selection during this gathering for the 5th and 6th days of the CAN 2025 qualifiers. The Moroccan international was taken out last Saturday on a stretcher a few minutes after his goal against Alavés during the 13th day of La Liga.
After medical tests, his club announced that the 20-year-old striker suffered a complete rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and a sprain of the internal lateral ligament in his right knee.
