Fenerbahçe wants to strengthen with a Manchester United player

José Mourinho’s new club, Fenerbahçe, would have ticked off the name of a Manchester United player in order to strengthen itself.

Second in the championship with 99 points, the Fenerbahçe team had a great season domestically. Unfortunately, despite this high points total, it was Galatasaray who finished as champions. In order to take a step forward and aim for the title again, the Istanbul team decided to recruit a legendary coach, José Mourinho.

After a passage marked by a title at theAS Roma, The Special One had been without a club for a few months. The mix of Mourinho and Turkey risks being explosive. With the arrival of the Portuguese tactician at the helm, Fenerbahçe nevertheless wants to build a team that meets the expectations of its coach. To strengthen themselves, Fenerbahçe have officially started negotiations with Manchester United for one of their defenders. The Turks would target the Swede Victor Lindelöf. Manchester United defender since 2017, Lindelöf could well leave the Mancunian club this summer.

A new experience for Lindelöf

Victor Lindelöf was one of José Mourinho’s choices when he was managing Manchester United. Very quickly considered one of the most promising defenders, the Swede has never managed to establish himself as an indisputable starter for the Mancunians. With nearly 260 matches played in the Red Devils jersey, Lindelöf has been used a lot by all the coaches who have succeeded one another.

The choice to bring Lindelöf back to Fenerbahçe is consistent on the part of Mourinho. He knows the qualities of the Swedish player well. Now 29 years old and full of experience, his level of play could bring a lot to the Turkish club. One year from the end of his contract, son arrival should not cost Fenerbahçe a fortune. After 7 years at Manchester United, a new experience awaits Lindelöf in a championship where he will have everything to prove.
