There was no photo in the duel between HC Franches-Montagnes and HC La Chaux-de-Fonds in the quarter-final of the Swiss Ice Hockey Cup. The Neuchâtelois logically won 6-1, Wednesday evening, in Saignelégier, in a sold-out ice rink and in a good-natured atmosphere. The Swiss League leader enforced the hierarchy against the 7th in MyHockey League. Superior in impact, much faster and more precise in execution, the Abeilles deserved their success. A success quickly took shape, since the visitors were already leading 1-0 after less than a minute of play.

Malgré Hugo Cerviño

Throughout the game, the HCC was better than its opponent who, however, proved dangerous during certain situations of breakdowns or in numerical superiority. Otherwise, the HCFM essentially skated – with determination – in its defense zone against a limestone armada which had made the entire trip and which sometimes set a big rhythm. Loaned to Franches-Montagnes by the HCC, goalkeeper Hugo Cerviño allowed the Taignons to limit the damage, often blocking his former teammates, sometimes at the cost of prowess.

Regrets at 2-0

While the score was 2-0 in favor of the visitors – a score acquired after 16 minutes of play – the HCFM had its highlight. Unfortunately for him, he did not find the fault despite three big chances, including a save from an HCC defender while the goalkeeper was beaten on a sending from Colin Loeffel at 5 against 4. There was also the miss from the Chaux-de-Fonier goalkeeper and Even Helfer’s quick shot shortly before mid-match. The chance to make the Abeilles doubt had passed: “It’s a shame… we had a few chances but we never knew how to make them doubt”, regretted Taignon striker Colin Loeffel at the end of the match… In the almost in the wake of these sequences, La Chaux-de-Fonds took off by scoring in the 34th and 36th, where its domination was strongest. The HCC then managed the debates with mastery, even scoring two more goals in the last third. The HCFM also created a few chances at the end of the game and was able to score the goal of honor (the 5-1 by Colin Loeffel). A lesser evil considering the debauchery of Frank-mountain energy. /male
