The draw against Union Saint-Gilloise cost AS Roma coach Ivan Juric his place. His successor may surprise you.
Ivan Juric paid the high price for sharing Roma at the King Baudouin Stadium – and more generally for the missed start to the season for La Louve, 12th in Serie A. The Croatian coach left the door last week, and several names were been cited to replace it.
But Roma, for lack of a credible candidate who would emerge, will bring a veteran out of his unofficial “retirement”: according to Sky Sport Italiait is in fact Claudio Ranieri73 years old, who should take over the reins of the Roman club!
Ranieri is said to have traveled to London to speak with the Friedkins family, owners of Roma. He would therefore hold the rope to succeed Juric and become the coach of the Giallorossi for the third time, after stints in 2009-2011 and 2019.
Claudio Ranieri has been without a club since last summer and the end of his lease at Cagliari. We thought that this meant a well-deserved end to his career for the man whose great achievements will of course remain the title of champion of England with Leicester City in 2016.
