At only 18 years old, Félix Lebrun reached the best ranking of his young career, rising to 4th place in the world hierarchy. His brother Alexis is in 14th place.
He continues his irresistible rise. Quarter-finalist last week at the WTT Champions in Frankfurt (Germany), Félix Lebrun (18 years old) gained a new place and is now in 4th place in the world hierarchy, still dominated by the Chinese Wang Chuqin (1st) , Lin Shidong (2nd) and Fan Zhendong (3rd). With this position, the French table tennis prodigy reached the best ranking of his young career, less than 200 points from the podium.
This ranking adds to a particularly successful year for the youngest of the Lebrun brothers, with his title at the WTT Star Contender in Goa, his bronze medals in singles and in teams at the 2024 Olympics, his coronation in doubles with his brother Alexis at the Championships of Europe in Linz (Austria), and especially his title at the WTT Champions in Montpellier (equivalent to a Masters 1000 in tennis). And it may not be over yet.
Next week (November 20-24), Félix Lebrun will participate, along with Alexis Lebrun, in the WTT Finals in Fukuoka (Japan), which will bring together the 16 best players in the world. A new opportunity for the Montpellier to shine and challenge the supremacy of the Chinese.
Five other French people are in the world top 100 with Alexis Lebrun, who lost one place and is ranked 14th, Simon Gauzy (39th), Thibault Poret (71st), Lilian Bardet (75th) and Jules Rolland (100th). Among the women, Jianan Yuan still occupies 18th place and Prithika Pavade 20th position in a ranking largely dominated by the Chinese Sun Yingsha.
