While DR Congo qualified for CAN 2025 after obtaining four victories in as many matches in Group H, everything will now be decided between Guinea, Tanzania and Ethiopia during the last two days of the qualifiers for a qualification for Morocco.
With 6 points taken after 4 matches, Guinea is best positioned to support the DRC. But to achieve this, Serhou Guirassy and his teammates must beat the Leopards in the fourth and hope for a defeat or a draw for Tanzania against Ethiopia. Such a scenario will qualify them for CAN 2025 even before the sixth and final day. But if unfortunately Guinea loses against DR Congo and at the same time, Tanzania wins against Ethiopia, it will have to wait until the last day and play a final against Tanzania in Dar Es Salam.
Third in Group H with 4 points, the Taïfa stars of Tanzania must win the two remaining matches to secure a place for Morocco. But Guinea still has to make a misstep. Before welcoming Syli National at home on the sixth and final day, Tanzania must already achieve a good result against Ethiopia, the weakest team in the group.
With only one point taken after four days, Ethiopia has almost no chance of going to Morocco, even if, mathematically, it is not yet eliminated. Even two victories in his next two matches do not fully guarantee him qualification.
Current standings for Group H:
1er RDC 12 pts
2nd Guinea 6 pts
3e Tanzania 4 pts
4th Ethiopia 1pt
5th day:
Ethiopia – Tanzania
Guinea – DRC
6th day
Tanzania – Guinea
DRC – Ethiopia
