After thirteen rich seasons at Club Brugge, where he stimulated sporting success and organizational growth, going so far as to win six league titles during this period, Vincent Mannaert is now faced with a major new challenge within the club. Belgian Union.
In this new role, Mannaert will report to CEO Peter Willems on daily decisions and to the sports committee, composed among others of Wouter Vandenhaute and Sven Jaecques, for strategic issues, reports The Standard.

The objective of these structured and regular reports is to keep the lines clear and to properly use Mannaert’s expertise. His task is crucial: he will contribute to youth development policy, support for the Red Devils and other essential aspects of Belgian football.
Just after his appointment, the past of Vincent Mannaert, mentioned in the context of the “Mains Propres” affair, resurfaced. The Belgian Union explained that it had signed and examined its ethical code with him, and wished to “turn the page” on its past.
Vincent Mannaert’s past also concerns excessive alcohol consumption. The details will remain between the URBSFA and the main interested party, but fairly strict agreements have been concluded concerning it. With this compromise, the Belgian Union hopes to have put aside concerns to concentrate on sporting and political work.
